My Life Check™ by American Heart Association is a scientific health assessment tool based on Life’s Essential 8™ for cardiovascular wellness.

The American Heart Association has introduced Life’s Essential 8™, a comprehensive guide for anyone looking to improve their heart health. It emphasizes that it’s never too late to make better health choices.
The eight critical components include eating a healthy diet, ensuring at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75 minutes of vigorous- intensity activity per week, and steering clear of all tobacco products while also avoiding secondhand smoke exposure. Adequate sleep is also crucial, with a target of 7 to 9 hours each night.
A healthy body weight is encouraged, with a body mass index (BMI) less than 25 kg/m^2. Monitoring and managing cholesterol levels is important, along with maintaining fasting blood sugar levels under 100 mg/dL or an A1C of less than 5.7%. Lastly, keeping blood pressure below 120/80 mm Hg is key to cardiovascular health.
These guidelines provide a framework for individuals to evaluate and adjust their lifestyle for better cardiovascular health.
