EEG

An Electroencephalogram (EEG) is a non-invasive clinical test that captures electrical activity in the brain using small electrodes attached to the head. The neuronal cells in brain communicate via electrical impulses, and an EEG can be used to track and record these brainwave patterns. This test is invaluable in diagnosing conditions like epilepsy, sleep disorders, brain tumors, brain damage from head injuries, and inflammation of the brain (encephalitis). It can also help monitor brain activity during surgery and assess brain function in patients in a coma. The EEG provides critical insights into brain activity, assisting physicians in making informed decisions about treating and managing various neurological conditions.
