Lumbar Spine
The lumbar spine, housing the five largest and strongest vertebrae in the spinal column (L1 through L5), is a crucial part of our body. It bears the bulk of our body’s weight and is instrumental in our movement, flexibility, and torso strength. Its robust structure allows it to handle significant stress, providing stability and support. However, this very function also makes it a common site for back pain and injury. Issues like lumbar disc herniation or prolapse, spinal stenosis, and degenerative disease can significantly impact the lumbar spine. To maintain lumbar spine health, it’s essential to provide it with proper care, including exercise, good posture, and ergonomics.
