Anxiety
Anxiety is a natural and often necessary emotion that serves as a response to stress, signaling potential dangers and preparing the body for action. Anxiety is a state of unease that is often accompanied by worried thoughts and physical changes such as increased blood pressure. Regarding severity, anxiety can range from mild and fleeting to severe and debilitating. Excessive and persistent anxiety that interferes with daily life activities may indicate an anxiety disorder. These anxiety disorders are among the most common mental health conditions, affecting millions worldwide. They include generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder and panic disorder. Still, all are marked by an overarching state of excessive worry and fear. Effective management, such as therapy, medication, and lifestyle changes, can help treat symptoms and improve the quality of life for those affected.
