Computed tomography

Computed Tomography (CT), or CAT scanning (Computerized Axial Tomography), is a non-invasive medical imaging technique. It combines X-ray measurements taken from multiple different angles to render cross-sectional images of a scanned region. These images allow the user to see inside the object without cutting. CT is renowned for its ability to provide detailed images of bones, blood vessels, and soft tissues, making it an invaluable tool in medical diagnosis and treatment planning. This imaging technique is widely used in medicine for diagnosing various conditions, from detecting bone and joint problems to identifying cancers and assessing internal injuries following trauma. CT scans are quick, painless, and generally safe, although they expose patients to more radiation than standard X-rays. The development of CT has revolutionized diagnostic medicine, providing detailed internal views of the body and aiding in more accurate disease detection and assessment.
